The trouble with the internet is that you will get information-overload and start getting confused with the myriad of resorts that you will find.

What I do is categorise my bookmarks into A lists and B lists. Those on the A lists are those that I would consider staying at. Those on the B list are those I would rather not visit.

The links below are some of the better ones I've used in planning my holidays. However, other than the resorts reviewed in this website, I haven't actually visited the actual resorts or tried living on the boats yet. So I can't promise you that they're truly A-List types or whether their standards are acceptable. And I definitely don't know if their bathrooms have removable shower heads or 2-ply toilet paper.

Brunei

http://www.theempirehotel.com/ - Brunei's first and only scuba dive centre, Scuba Tech International, is based in what looks like a very respectable A-list hotel. You'll have to email them directly though to obtain dive information specifically. Their email address is: scubatechintl@yahoo.com.

If you can, read the article on Brunei in the AustralAsia ScubaDiver (Issue 5/2005).

Manado

Manado is actually a city in North Sulawesi. As Singapore Airlines flies there, and because a lot of dive operators are concentrated there, divers tend to refer to Manado as the whole Northern tip of Sulawesi (encompassing Lembeh Straits, Bitung, Bunaken, mainland Manado, Gangga, and the Sangihe Islands). The Togean Islands, Wakatobi (Binongko Island) and Ujang Pandang (Makassar) are part of Central and Southern Sulawesi.
